THESE.
STRAWBERRIES.
THEY'RE AMAZING.
When I was a kid, we had this incredible strawberry patch in our front yard where our artesian well leaked up through the soil, making the strawberries plump, red, juicy, and so, sooooo flavorful. I thought I'd never find strawberries like that again.
BUT I HAVE.
AND I CAN BUY THEM EVERYDAY IF I WANT.
Each June(ish) here in Germany they have what is lovingly referred to as "Erdbeerzeit!", which literally means "Strawberry Time!" These little stands pop up everywhere - in the square, out on the country road, even within the grocery store itself - selling these fresh, juicy, red, strawberries. And, oddly enough, white asparagus along side them...but that's a different story for a different day.
BUT THESE STRAWBERRIES. They have so much flavor, that it doesn't matter how many you've eaten - you'll still utter an involuntary "mmmmmMMMMmmm" when you pop the next one in your mouth.
They're incredible.
Better than candy, or so think my children.
This particular little basket was brimming when I brought it home, but in the time that it took me to get my camera out and just stinkin' take photos of them to document their incredibleness, I ate 1/4 of the basket.
BUT JUST LOOK AT THEM.
Needless to say, this little basket didn't last long. But that's okay - we'll just get some more on Monday :)
